Calming Chamomile

This piece really touches my heart. To create it I used something I found that was discarded and was deeply personal to someone else. I have no idea who they are, but their words are the basis of this piece. I'll go into more detail in a "Behind the Canvas" post on Patreon. I like this one so much that I'm setting it up to be the cover art on a journal I'll publish in the future. This mixed media piece is 12"x9" and is available for purchase.

Gilded Skepticism

This sparkly one (embellished with sparkly gold paint) carries an expression of skepticism I often see in my own reflection these days.

Ballo Finire

"The butterfly is a flying flower. The flower is a tethered butterfly." -Ponce Denis

I marvel at butterflies and flowers, their brief dynamic lives, brilliant through the final moment when their dance ends.

Well Bye Bye for this Time

I have a most generous friend that has been giving me beautiful paper ephemera that comes from many years ago. I find myself thinking of both the recipient of the piece of the card I incorporated into my art, and the sender that chose to sign off with, "Well Bye Bye for this time."

Find Beauty Everywhere

"If you truly love nature, you will find beauty everywhere." -Vincent van Gogh

I'm so grateful that I get to walk through a grove of Douglas Firs almost every day with my sweet Ellie Mae and that the flowers here are beginning to show their beautiful faces. Hoping you all get to find beauty in nature every day.

Be Silent No More

After everyone went to bed last night I painted, ripped, scratched, scrawled...and woke up this morning and did some more.

Be silent no more. Use your voice.

Let your Light Shine Through

"You may think your light is small, but it can make a huge difference in other people's lives."

-Unknown

Let your light shine through.

Friends, I'm in the beginning stages of creating journals with my art on the covers. I've got a steep learning curve, which is a great opportunity for my newly retired brain, and I'm excited to share them. I'll keep you posted!
