Inspiration

Every once in a while I find myself on the receiving end of the absolute best compliment. "You inspire me." What an incredible honor it is to be told such a thing. It made me think about all those things that this wonderful art life means to me and I scribed a few...and then added some whimsical flowers on top.

With Thoughts Above

I started this piece as part of a 30 day challenge. My intent was to add layers each day for 30 days. But I was feeling as I always do with abstract-ish work...I never know when the right time to stop is. I'd decided that I was going to add a statement when I did my daily facebook posts of my progress that I'd be super happy to sell it at any point during the 30 days. I thought it would be absolutely fabulous to have help deciding when it was finished. Within minutes of this thought crossing my mind, someone did just that! I'm so happy and honored that they love it at its day 7 "as is".


I've decided that I'm going to do a series of 15 day challenge abstract paintings. If there's any point in the process when you love what I've done and want me to STOP, just let me know and it's yours. The base price will be $30 and each day I work on it will add $10 to the price. That means that if you love it at day 4, it will be $70. They will be ready to hang with the canvas edges painted black, sealant applied, and wired for installation. I'll be posting daily photos here on this blog and on my art page on facebook. If I get all the way to day 15 they'll be listed for sale on my Daily Paintworks gallery.

I'm super excited!

The Stuff of Daydreams

As part of this amazing class I'm taking, Dancing with Your Dreams (lesson by Kristen Powers), I created a small piece about my favorite stuff of daydreams. This was super exciting for me because while I mostly remember my daydreams, I hardly ever remember my night dreams.

And what's awesome about what I daydream about is that when I'm actually doing the things I daydream about I'm at my peak of daydreaming. A lovely circle of daydreamness.
